The human race has many evolutionary stages to survive before we become anything resembling a remarkable species. Having the powers of independent thought, free will, and reasoning don't make us smart (as is evidenced by the state of the world today). The human race is not as intelligent or as advanced as we like to tell ourselves we are.

So it's not our fault? We can blame somebody/something else for all our woes. If we don't TAKE responsibility we get what we deserve.

Learning to take responsibility for our actions is part of growth. Until the entire human race accomplishes this feat, we are not growing or changing as a species. I have only myself to blame for the poor choices I've made in life. I've learned a lesson from every event in my life; good or bad. Too many are not willing to take responsibility; it's far easier to blame others.

Look I'm not having a go at you, honestly, but isn't that another cop out? until the ENTIRE race accomplishes this feat (taking responsibility) "when somebody else takes responsibility I will, till then" taking responsibility is something everybody can do whether it's taking responsibility for looking out for a neighbour, holding your elected representatives RESPONSIBLE for their actions or taking responsibility for using a little less power, it all counts and it WILL snowball.
One mans corruption is another mans opportunity...until we all see things exactly the same way...a shared universal perception...this is the world we live in...all one can do is control ones own actions...and as mentioned above...take responsibility for those actions...
Stop worrying about other peoples lives and fix your own...that is the way forward.

That's your view and you are entitled to it, but I suspect that way lies anarchy.

here i am only an ordinary citizen meanwhile the big case here now is the issue about 670 million US Dollar that have lost to nowhere so what citizen can maximumly do?
personally i think corruption is great. you pay people to do what you tell them to. or to look the other way. when something ethically questionable is being done.its always been the way of the world, bribes and kickbacks for favors. if we live in a world full of greed and corruption, that will never change. because of human nature. then understanding how to control that corruption is the key. or we ramain in that vicious circle of anarchy leads to tyrrany which leads to monarchy which leads back to anarchy back to tyrrany.....

Entropy assures that corruption will always increase over time.
It's like rust, or mildew. It will happen whenever steps aren't taken to prevent it and keep it in check.

our new president now gives a better hit for the corruptors compared than the previous presidents and people said that the scandal now is only an issue that is blowed up due to some efforts to make him fall down from his position, i just wish it won't happen as what i know after he became president, things gets better here, it's just people under him or around him that maybe is the thief and just betray him i don't know, it's just maybe

For those who haven't seen it, here is Transparency International's corruption index for 2009:
What four things do 24 of the 30 top ranked countries have in common?
1. They are democracies.
2. They are physically small (under 1 million square kilometres).
3. They have small populations (under 75-100 million).
4. They have a highly independent media.
The only countries which don't meet all four criteria are Canada (2), Australia (2), Japan (3), the US (2 and 3), Hong Kong (1 and 4) and the United Arab Emirates (1). Canada, the US, Hong Kong and Australia were derived from British democracy, and by extension so was Japan. And the UAE, while being a dictatorship, is small and has a surprisingly aggressive media, though the dictatorship is trying to censor and silence reporters.
The basic issue in stopping corruption is whether it's easy to detect corruption and hold people accountable for it. If that happens, the country is less likely to be corrupt.
It's also why many small democracies (size and population) with independent media can still be corrupt. There's a culture of corruption that permeates some countries making backroom deals acceptable until people get caught(e.g. South Korea, Taiwan, Spain, South Africa).
