Godsgift: I don't usually bother with a tree or Christmas decrations since I live alone but a friend of mine talked me into it this year saying it's very important to do these things for yourself and that I have to make the effort to be happy.
So I've just finished and I'm delighted I did. So anyone else spending this Christmas alone, just a wee bit of effort will blow the winter and budget blues away.

I was really feeling totally depressed about christmas this year and I wasnt planing on putting up a tree, but yesterday my flatmate suggested we decorate the house, I was so against it when we pulled out the box of decorations, I got really upset and started crying, she comforted me, put on music and made a massive fuss of it all. I have to say it really cheered me up in the end and Im glad she bent my arm to do it.
The tree looks lovely, and when i look at it I just feel the warmth of friendship from it.......mmmmhhhhh, seems like Im a bit of a softy after all.

Hi godsgift ... I've put my fibre optic one up and also lights and tinsel around the door frames - looks really pretty :)

gg yeah i think your right i not put up decorations in years neary 10 now reason is most xmas i usually work it and spend either the day or night in a friends house seems pretty pointless to me if im not in house on the day though maybe this year il make the effort
