ValidityLindsay, Ontario Canada47 Threads 1 Polls 803 PostsTHESE PEOPLE REALLY INSTILL MY FAITH IN HUMANITY AND HOPE FOR RELATIONSHIPS.THEY HAVE SPENT THEIR WHOLE LIFE AS HUSBAND AND WIFE TOGETHER.I WORK IN HEALTH CARE,EVERYDAY I SEE HUSBANDS AND WIVES OF MANY YEARS LOOSE ONE OF THEIR PARTENERS, THESE ARE THE OLD SCHOOLERS, THAT PEOPLE MY AGE CAN LEARN FROM.I SEE IT IN THEIR EYES,HOW DEEP THEIR LOVE RUNS.WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE,THEY ARE BY THEIR LOVED ONES SIDE, GENUINELY UNTIL THEY FADE FROM THIS EARTH.I ONLY SPENT 12 YEARS WITH MY HUSBAND,BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY.THESE ARE THE FOLKS THAT MAKE ME BELEIVE I HAVE ANOTHER CHANCE AT WHAT THEY HAVE!!!LOVE

I used to work for an american Legion and trust me, it peaked my curiosity how some of these 50 plus could make it that long, I watched and learned from them. What did they have in common? They respected each other , did for each other without question , in short they were truely devoted to each other, not just one but both, Respect and Devotion. At a 50th wedding anniversary being held at the legion I asked the groom a simple question, what is the secret to your longevity....he told me ..Yes Maam. makes sence to me mutual respect and love plus Devotion, now you know why the divorce rate is so high, no mutual respect and devotion.....I have learned just add woman .------ This thread is Archived ------

Yes they are, 
I asked my elderly neighbors one time, what do they think helped them to stay together so long, they said friendship, that they always had a real friendship in each other. And all that goes with that, a unconditional love. That they were always a team and will die a team.

Kalimera: This may be the case but lots of couples used to stay together here because it wasnt exceptable to seperate. My parents were married for over 40 years and I never heard them say a kind word to each other.
It was actually a relief when my Father died.
There is always those ones,but i think maybe i just pick out the good ones?? there are alot of the good ones, i am a hopeless romantic, i admit itIt was actually a relief when my Father died.
