OK gang, I'm traveling around Oz with my own problems when I pick up a paper and find out that another bunch of lunatic cultists (because that is what Islam has become) have just been stopped from blowing up a bunch of aircraft.

I think that it is time to tax these cults. I am not just talking about Islam but all of the other religions that have declared "better dead than (red) not paying attention to me" ... and Christians may as well start paying up as well. After all it was their crusades that started this crap.

The semetic religions are just cults. They all proffess to be forgiving and philisophical while practicing things that baboons consider anti-social.

Religions are for the benifit of a few and are profit making enterprises. They should be TAXED. At the highest rate. This would help offset the costs incurred making sure that the wackos they attract and nurture don't damage anyone else. In fact a tax could be levied on a sliding scale depending on how many wackos have had to be dealt with.
Catholic IRA set off a bomb, Thank you Pope, that will put your tax rate at 45%. Protestant UDF bomb a pub, Thank you Your Majesty, that will put your tax rate at 50% (bombing pubs is worse). An Orthodox Jew assasinates the Israeli Prime Minister, Thank you Black Hat curly bang wearing guys, your tax rate is now 60%. Islamic dipsticks bomb a train, thank you Achmed, as you don't work and have been a drain on our society since you arrived seeking asylum from another cult nutter we are taking your house. You cannot support your children so they will become wards of the state and be brought up in a secular household where they will learn to contribute rather than think up ways to kill the people that ARE supporting them with their taxes.

Now politicians should understand the need for this as religious groups are in reality shadow political factions. They are not voted for or even supported by the majority of productive people. But they insist on imposing their will on the population.

It is worth noting here that most of the Worlds leaders have to cowtow to the lunatic fringe to even stay in office ... Fine, so the next time a religious wacko is caught "playing" with the children ... slap a tax on them to offset the damage they are doing.

Go in peace

Why NOT?
All of the religions with the possible exception of Buddism want authority without responsibility.

The killing of people in the name of a religion is that religion's responsibility if it does not immediately and without reservation denounce the act and ex-communicate those that carried it out.

Good point. Separation of Church and State. The only thing that does not change is death and taxes.

Well I guess taxes stop when you die ... and that is the point I suppose. Tax religions out of existence like the lung killing cigareete companies that share their code of ethics.

I don't think you can tax special interests groups, but the Internal Revenue Service is looking into it, lol.

Anyone see a very thought provoking movie with Scottish comedian Billy Connoly called "The man who sued God"

Its about a guy whose boat and livelihood get blown out of the water by a lighting bolt.

The insurance company refuse to pay as it is an act of God.

So he sues God.

It raises some very interesting points.

But taxing religions? Its a fantastic idea!

The bigger they are, the more they should pay.

The Church of England (2 years ago) lost £800 million (sterling) (US$1.6 billion) in one land transaction deal. The perpetrator was an ex share dealer who had taken the cloth.

But it still made a profit from its tithes and rents.

Religion is a twisted evil form of exploitation and if it was taxed to cover the costs of death and destruction, then I would vote for that!

Blinding idea!thumbs up

America is backed the Federal Reserved. The dollar is backed by God. In God we trust. It would be interesting to see how the antitrust laws would unfold. Separation of Church and State. Church versus State. Render under Caesar what is Caesar; Render unto God what is God's. God versus America. Hmmm.

I have always wondered why any cult/religion was exempt from taxes, and think they should all be paying like the rest of us.

I agree. All big business should be taxed and those taxes should be paid to the current tax payers. Big business has monpolized long enough. It is time to reverse the equation and have them pay us.
