Wobbie just said what I was going to say but seriously if €4 woun't make any difference to you why not just donate it to them every penny will count... Like all natural disasters everyone in haiti is now suffering unlike the ression in ireland earthquakes don't care if your rich or poor..

OK, I'm not Irish but I remember at the Tsunami, the Irish were very generous compared to others. I don't think it's necesserily government money that will make the difference but individuals like you and me and that soon enough appeals will start.

Before that though, aid agencies have to establish themselves to assess what's needed and distribute the aid where or it will be stolen or frittered away.

The money given by the EU to Ireland was NOT a charitable donation. It was a cash injection to turn the country into a consumer ecconomy in level with other countries so that one day it would be a net contributer as opposed to a charity case. You don't honestly believe that the likes of the Germans, the Brits or the French donated that money out of the goodness of their hearts.doh
