Wow. A major essay. Why leave it so late?
I am vary of Aspergers syndrome diagnosis. There is (or was) a tendancy to classify people (especially boys) who are in any way geeky/nerdy/highly intelligent as aspergers.

Maybe 20 years ago. Not any more. Early intervention teams do years of assessments and therapies before even mentioning the possibility of Asbergers.
All youngsters go through phases of being geeky/nerdy through normal processes of growth and maturisation.
