If ya love her you have to accept her, faults and all.
People never change so you'll never change her so you have to weigh up weather you want to be with her forever...warts and all.

If shes driving you crazy then you are not happy so finish it, You dont deserve to be driven mad because of the death of her brother 20 years ago, sounds like she needed councilling 20 years ago when her brother died not 20 years later, shes damaged goods

Why are you attracted to such a needy person? I think you need to look inwards my friend. Pity and love and needing to be needed are all different things.
How long have you been going out with her, and long have you loved her?
What insecurities has she? Does she think your going to die? Or cheat? Is it her own body issues shes insecure with?

If her insecurities are causing both of you distress perhaps it would be an idea to get her to speak to someone, a doctor or counsellor, who would be sympathetic and help work her through her issues. You dont have to force her to go to someone that she feels uncomfortable with but, if she does find someone she trusts to talk to about things, your support would be vital in getting her better. If she has had these issues for 20 years it would take some time and effort in getting over them.

I dont believe that he needs to stay with her if she is making him unhappy but to describe a person in pain as "damaged goods" is insensitive to say the least.

As for getting back to the thread,,,i think you need to sit down and talk to your lady friend,,and also let her know how your feeling.Maybe even tell her,the past is gone now,,,and its the future she should be looking towards,with hopefully you in it,to support and love her.

drop the damaged part,,and look at it in a way yes she must have major pros,,for it to go on 20yrs,,and could be more to it than the brothers death,,by sounds of it,he does,nt know her that long,so i would say theres more to it,
