GILLDEE: How would YOU define tolerance?
To me tolerance is the appreciation of diversity and the ability to live and let others live. I think its the ability to exercise a fair and objective attitude towards those whose opinions, practices, religion, nationality etc differ from our own.
Intolerance? Well I believe its the failure to appreciate and respect the practices, opinions and beliefs of another group.
I guess I'm intolerant then, 'cos no way can I tolerate "chavs" or just scum in general... To me tolerance is the appreciation of diversity and the ability to live and let others live. Tolerance is setting limits. Everyone has there limit then they bcome intolerant. in some things i have my limits which are higher than most.and in other things i have zero tolerance. A lot of people i have met in my short life confuse tolerance with ethics, principles etc.
