Hi....

I went on a local singles night on Saturday, saw the advert in the paper and got few gals to go, which was hosted by the genesis club (dublin) saying it was for over 30's....it was 20 euro in.

well, what a horrific event....over 30's indeed....the guys came in aged 55+ and just a handful of them were in their 30's!...alot of women there....and each of us said the same thing.....a big let down....and the drink was very expensive.

A total waste of money, all we got for it was crappy music, and 2 glasses of wine and a chocolate out of a roses tin.

just wondering should i email them to express how i felt?

Yes. I'd send them an email. Not a nasty one but I'd let them know how you felt about the night. Point out what they could have done better so they will know for the next one they have.

If there was any redeeming things about the night let them know that too!

i got a reply!...and no such information was given to us before we paid online for the event...

read below...just part of the email

"We do tell people that ask us about the age, that the average turnout to a Genesis event is 60% between 40 and mid 50s, 20% over 55 and 35 & 40. That said the ages can vary slightly from time to time. We do also tell people in their 30s who ask us about age, that no more than 20% of people will be under 40 years. That said, you have a point, and we certainly do not want to mislead people, and we will certainly address this before our next event.

As a token guesture, if you ever wish to try out another Genesis, we will give you 50% off the booking price of €20, so €10 each."

SORRY MATE.....BUT YOU SHANT SEE WE 3 AGAIN!...HEHE....

Thanks everyone for their comments.

Ok. Those are fighting words! I'd reply and tell them what they can do with their 50%.

If they are fully aware of the age group attracted by the singles night then it should be made clear when buying the tickets.

Yeah, sounds like it was a bad night, been down that route before, dont waste your effort going back there as Id veto the place personally, but fair play to replying to them ;)
