Liars (133)

I was chatting to one of my friends last week and the subject got onto some the lies we had heard from some people over the years, both from people we had dated and people we came across both at work and in our general social circle. I recall one of a girl I worked with who told us some porkies like being engaged, miscarrying and having her engagement party cancelled on her all in the space of 2 months (And without missing work) as well as singing the lead in her Drama Clubs production of Cats and skiing with the Irish Soccer team (When they'd be playing home games) and the crack we had laughing at her tall tales.

What I find interesting is why people do it. Are they sad, loonies, trying to wind us up or making up for some shortfall in their lives? What do they get out of it all? And what about the lies that hurt and deceive or some of the white lies we all sneak out. Are they right as well?

Also, I'd be curious to hear what other fibs and yarns people have heard over the years and what happened to them afterwards; I am sure we all have heard dozens of them both good and bad

Anyone that says they hate liars sounds a bit hypocrital to me.
Everybody has lied, whether it is a small lie or a big lie.
I guarantee you nearly everyone lies everyday without even realising it, whether its a white lie to a child or a normal lie to somebody else.
Everybody has lied and everybody will lie again.

We had a real bunny boiling liar on CS just last year...one of the biggest liars I ever came across.....scary woman she was

ahh so you do lie. hence its hypocrital..

hahah i was thinking the excat same plus its only natural to tell a fib ir excaggerate

plus IMO if the truth is gonna hurt the person more that telling a small white lie then why hurt the person when theres no need to

i love listening to some peoples tell tales they can be quiet intresting especially when u know the person is a bit of an excaggerater
