laura139: My daughter is a functioning alcoholic. She goes to work every day and gets smashing drunk after. She used to live with me, but I think that was only so she could have more money to spend on her booze. I talk to her once a week now. My house as well suffered from her daily binges. I don't need to go into detail, but was time for her to sink or swim. We can't save eveyone, especially grown kids, probably the best thing is to let them take their lumps, sounds harsh maybe, just had to resort to tough love. I understand tough love I have a son with problems which I will not discuss on here. get to know me and I would tell you and tough love hurts us as mums more than it does our kids trust me
