Here are 10 good reasons to drink more water:

1. Your blood is over 80 percent water and needs water to make healthy new blood cells.

2. Your bones are over 50 percent water and, you guessed it, need water to make healthy new bone cells.

3. Drinking more water actually helps lessen pain in your body by getting your lymphatic system moving. The lymphatic system is a network of nodes, tubes, vessels, and fluid that move waste out of your tissues. It requires water to function properly.

4. Water helps to eliminate wastes and toxins from your body through the lymphatic system, kidneys, and intestines.

5. Water lubricates your joints and helps reduce joint pain and protect against wear and tear.

6. Water regulates your metabolism so if you’re overweight chances are you may need more water.

7. Water balances body temperature.

8. Water helps to ensure adequate electrical functioning so your brain and nervous system function properly. Your brain and nervous system send out electrical signals to function properly. Researchers estimate that your brain gives off about the same amount of electricity as a 60 watt light bulb. So, there’s some truth to the image of a light bulb going on when someone has a good idea. idea

9. Water alleviates dehydration.

10. Every cell and organ in your body requires adequate water to function properly.

So, one of the quickest and easiest ways to improve your health is to start drinking more pure water every day. Be sure to drink water an empty stomach or you’ll simply be diluting your digestive enzymes and making your digestion less effective.

And, choose purified water as much as possible (but get yourself a BPA-free water bottle so you won’t pollute the planet with all those plastic water bottles). In wealthy, developed nations with plentiful access to water, we really have no excuses for not drinking enough water.

How about you... Do you drink your share of water daily?
Did you know the importance of water for your body's function?
Will you begin to drink more water now that you know?

Yes, water actually does make us feel better!

I never drank water, my entire life, until 5 years ago.
I bottle it from the springs here. This water is full of minerals and trace minerals which helps to clear my mind and remove all the toxins in my body.

I have asked many people who are getting on in years and have a smooth complexion without wrinkles, how they stay so young looking.
Every one of them contribute their youthfulness to drinking lots of WATER!

We suffer from dehydration without even knowing it!

Thank you for your participation katt!hug And DO drink more water!

Actually bollywood, NO, the water content in the Beer is NOT good enough.scold

Beer actually causes Dehydration! doh

So does soda pop! For every soda you drink, your body needs
32 ounces of water to replenish the dehydration.

Yes I agree with you. A lot of us should drink more water and I'm one of them. In a post of yours you mentioned 32 ounces, is that the recommended daily intake?

The 32 ounces I mentioned in the amount needed to re-hydrate you from drinking just 1 soda pop! Some people drink soda's all day long!

Drinking 32 ounces a day would be a good start for those who do not currently drink that much. It can be increased to 1 gallon to 1 1/2 gallons thru the summer months. I like mine with a squeeze of lemon... it adds live enzymes.grin

Also, for anyone wanting to lose weight, drink a full glass of water Before each meal. You will eat Less as you will feel full on less food.

That's an honest answer Zell. Good to SEE you!wave hug
The caffine in coffee also Dehydrates the body. I would slowly lesson the amount you drink. Start with one cup less for a week, then drop off another cup each following week. A sudden stop of caffine will cause SEVERE Headaches!!!doh Replace the loss of the cup of coffee with a tall glass of pure Water.drinking

Water is awsome. Though I go through stages where I drink far less then I should, I notice how my body reacts when I haven't had enough water in a day. And I work in a kitchen, you'd think that I'd keep hydrated on a regular basis, being that it gets so dang hot in there. But we get in a hurry to get stuff done and forget. doh need to tattoo "drink water" on the back of my hand or something. laugh

I've been told that we need 6 to 8 8oz glasses of water roughly a day (if not more). At least half of that has to be water and the other half can be coffee, tea, things like that but a majority of the fluid does have to be straight water.
I usually do that roughly in a day cause I find water is the only thing that quenches my thirst.

wave Hi ya Healthy!

I learn, and learn, always. Like a sponge!

I've learned lots of great, practical, healthful, very beneficial things from you. Some that I practice now, and did not before.

I've even sent folks to your past posts here, to get info.

Thanks girl! kiss lips

I knew about most in this post except for, "best on an empty stomach." Thanks!

My home has spring-water flowing from the ground. So yummie. I take it with me when I am out, so I do not have to resort to whatever is available.

I started drinking more water, taking less salt and less bleached flour decades ago! Some of the very first, early, baby-steps I took to improve my health.

I did not know about the best on an empty stomach, either. So we DO learn something new every day! laugh

Well, now I know I will come to visit you since you have spring water flowing freely at home!dancing
My biggest fear is traveling to a place that has no spring for me to drink from so I may continue receiving my minerals.
I usually bring a 3 gallon bottle with me.grin

We need to stay in touch and talk more!
Sorry I have been so busy, but it's Spring! Doing all the outdoor work. Mowed today and I've been working on the neglected Water Garden. It's looking good!

I love my water. Coffee in the morning, water throughout the day. A little wine in the evening and a glass of water to bed with me. Soda in a blue moon and I do not believe in sweet tea.
H20 to go.
