I don't know your family situation but i know there are sites that list rooms for rent/house share kind of things.
Word of mouth? Tell as many as your friends you need a house. This worked for me the last 2 times I moved.
Check local paper for private listings.

Hi Lilac , try realestate.com just click on yr state then type in the area your seeking rentals then your price range this will bring up a variety of listings in the area you can always expand your search & see what the surrounding districts have to offer! Its not just for the home buyers
