this weekend sees the the start of the 2010 all ireland football championship, who will win it?
three matches this weekend two live on the tv sunday
armagh v derry live at 2 kerry v tipperary live at 4 carlow v wicklow
armagh and derry should be a close one armagh should shade it coming off a strong league
kerry and tipperary may not be as one sided as it looks still kerry should have enough to emerge with a few points to spare
carlow v wicklow local derby this one the thomas walshe factor should make this the game of the weekend for drama if not for football ability heart says carlow head not so sure, ceatherlach abu
billyj1: Carlow v Wicklow Walsh is only one man. Wicklow have gained a lot of tough championship experience under Micko. But this one will be close!
he is only one man but combined with brendan murphy a nominee for cadbury young player of the year the could form a lethal midfield the game is live on rte.ie as far as i know
jimbo79: ye i was thinking of starting it all week but have been busy on hoganstand wicklow should shade it but it will be tight carlow at 7/2 is a good bet
Wicklow have a fair few injury worries, {I'm on hoganstand too, great site] carlow and wicklow always a close game and well worth watching, between rte , tv3 and bbc there is a great summer of matches to look forward to, I will be going to all the kildare games, hope there are more than two,

ye great site that one... oh we are without our full back our full forward and wing forward so it should balance it out, as for kildare there my tip for leinster was at most of there games last year and they were very close to beating dublin if it wasn't for the two sloppy goals they would have
scriobhneoir: Incidentally the more time goes on, I have a sneaking suspicion that Tipp could beat Kerry.
i think kerry share that fear and it's because of that they will win but it could be close. As for cork i was disgusted with them last year they dominated midfield throughout the game in the final, but there over reliance on the short game cost them. I don't get that with cork like the have the biggest team in the country but instead of using there size the play a game that totally negates there physical advantage, i thìnk the munster final will be between cork and waterford. But unless cork use the long game more it will be there last trophy this year
jimbo79: meath in 99 and meath in 01 was the last time a leinster team even reached the final no doubt about it leinster football has struggled but there are signs of improvement
Well i think it will be a kerry cork football all ireland id like to see Dublin get their as it the home of football
Hurling it will be a Kilkenny Tipp all ireland i hope we win this year Kilkenny are beatable and it showed it last year and we all know they will aim for 5 in a row, and also that no penalites are give away which arent meant to be!

Well I actually fancy Galway in the hurling this year
deiseboy77: well i think waterford are going to cause a few surprises in the qualifiers this year! our new football manager has done wonders since taking over!
agree with you there the have a great chance of reaching munster final and then they would be in the last 12
jimbo79: oh cork should win it, but i saw alot of weakness in there game against mayo, the first 3 points not one foot pass
They did play a lot of the short pass rubbish against Mayo, but they picked them off after a while. Kerry didn't beat Cork last year, we beat ourselves, if we approach things right mentally, I think we should do it.
Incidentally I think Armagh have the potential to do a lot of damage in this year's championship.
