How big a deal is it, for you? When I think back to those I have gone out with, I would say that 75% have been younger than me, by some way. And, to be honest, even when there has been a 10yr age gap or so on, I have not really noticed it, neither have they, and, for whatever reason we broke up, that didn't play a part.

Obviously, I am not so silly to rule out someone who was older than me, but I tend to gravitate towards those who are younger.

How about the other way around - girls who tend to go out with men who are older..?

cheers

Why though is it on these dating sites that one of the most important thing in searchers ,,that age plays an important factor with most?
.
Some people see a picture and are attracted to it ,then see the age and think no ,but in the reality world people see each other and make a decission yes or no , they dont ask each others ages .
confused

It's just one of the downsides of trying to meet someone, on the net, I guess.

I had a good 17yr relationship with a man 18yrs younger than me. Since being single I have been approached on here, as well as out socially by younger men who think I should be grateful for their attention.....so for me it's not always the age gap,it's the immaturity of some of the younger men that I dislike.

They is a saying that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and age is just a number. Some 60 yr olds do act and feel younger, and some 30 year olds act more mature for their years. It is up to the individuals. But then again within reason, one isn't going to date someone within the same age group as one's grown up children. I could be way off mark here because some women just love young adult malesdunno

Looking at dating sites and many females on them I would say you are right on the mark ! Many females seek younger males ( Men are just the same) Always a big problem with internet dating and always will be, If you see someone in a bar, club of even sitting in the park do you go up to them and ask there age before you think I could go for that..........No Way

My beliefs are -

The age gap is a perception to those outside the relationship but there is no doublt it is exacerbated if one party is married and the other not. To some people 10 years is too wide while others don't blink at 30 or even 40 years especially when it is obvious that the two concerned are happy.
However - When two unmarried, widowed or single adults are attracted to and obviously happy with each other it is entirely their own business.

If you had a 21 yr old daugther, how would you feel about her seeing a 40yr old guy?

Would your thoughts change if it was a 21yr old son that you had, and he was seeing a women of 40?

Isn't that a bit different, though? Different to someone of 21 going out with someone of 40..?

In my world, it wouldn't.

However, if you had a daughter of 20, how would you feel if she rolled in with me, 41?

Would you not feel that i was taking advantage, in some way?

I would feel happy for my daughter, whatever the age of her man.As long as he respects her and treats her right,it's fine by me.
How about this.....how do you think my daughter felt when I,her mother, hooked up with a man 18yrs my junior. It does and can work in some relationships. hug

I think two people have to be in a pretty strong relationship in order for it to stand up to people's outside views when it comes to age differences......anyone who can stand up to that definitely must have something worth keeping

NO - in both cases
TO QUALIFY
I say live and let live unless they do something illegal as the age of adulthood is 18 todayand has been since 1970 when it was 21

My parents, those of my late wife and frinds all taught us from an early age self-dicipline, and that with rights go equal responsibilities, therefore by the time we were 21, most of us including me, had already completed formal training and/or apprenticeships. Some went to University or were serving in the forces etc as I was at that age but we were all responsible adults by that age who could make our own minds up.
