My five year old decided to call the police (119) today. I caught her just as she got off the phone. I asked why and she said that she just wanted to leave a message but they would not listen.
what happened when you called? She replied," They said,"Police Emergency". She then shouted,"Oh no, this is not an emergency".
"Then what did they say," I asked, and she said they hung up so she called back and when they answered, she shouted,"that it was not an emergency but they told her goodbye and just hung up again".
I explained why she should not just call and she understood. When asked why she called, she said she just wanted tell them to have a good day.
Lets hope you remember to tell all those who work hard to keep us safe that they are appreciated.

That is innocent enough but where I live they respond with a few cars ASAP--just in case. You never know.
Abram: Ya, where I live its police, fire, and rescue that show up on calls like that.
a friend told me that once her alarm went off by accident and that she was charged 150 US dollars for the false alarm and had to claim on her insurance for compensation. Sounds weird but I guess that's a way to reduce pranks or is it
Yeah....they no play. What your daughter did was innocent enough. I'm sure you spoke with her about when the proper time is to call an emergency number. I don't think they charge and fine everybody that does it here. It just depends on the circumstances. They know that some kids play on the phone. Like the post above, sometimes they play a prank back and show up at your home to greet you.

Oh yes, we had a serious talk. She did not understand before but things are clear now.
