But tell me one thing, how is it that they're "heroes"? They haven't done anything except getting killed... Wouldn't the correct noun be "Martyr"?

It's not over yet. The Irish vessel the M.V Rachel Corrie is still on its way to Gaza. It has been told that it will be 'boarded' and stopped but so far so good.
My thoughts are with the crew and volunteers that come from many countries.

Israel had offered to allow them to have the cargo inspected and then, it would be delivered to Gaza. The people on the ship didn't want to do that, they wanted to illegally land in Gaza.

There is no allowed possibility that Israel, or anybody else, can supervise Europeans ships in international waters and limit their rights to flow free where ever they want except if Israel, or somebody else, wishes to declare war to NATO and Europa.

Anywhere in the globe.
We shall see who needs whom.

If the boats trying to enter had anything other than food or medical supplies, why didn't Israel present them? Because they didn't find any. The boats contained supplies to feed and treat people; Israel attempt to spin lies only works on the gullible willing to believe, like yourself.

Rachel Corrie was a beautiful young woman from Olympia, WA in North America where she attended Evergreen State College. She was wearing a bright orange vest and peacefully protesting the destruction of a Doctor's home when an Israeli soldier driving an armored, air-conditioned, 30-ton Caterpillar bulldozer deliberately squashed and killed her like a Palistinian insect.
Aboard the 1200-ton ship bearing her name are Mairead McGuire, the Irish Nobel Peace Price laureate and Dennis Halliday, former head of the UN's Oil-for-Food program in Iraq.

Oh get lost! of course it was close range!! are you blind aswell as dumb?? did you not watch that the IDF were being battered by muslim and so called peace loving people with METAL BARS AND ANYTHING THE COULD GET THEIR HANDS ON!! so IDF had to defend themselvs and there was no choice but to do what they did which was shoot. do you really think IDF wanted to shoot people when all they wanted to do was check the boat? it goes to show that bloody floatilla was hiding something otherwise they wouldnt have started to hit the IDF for no reason.

Also it shows your ignorance the fact folk got shot at point blank range is due to the Geography of the ship.....Also the fact the "crew" attacked the boarding party withe the weapons they had. Foolish and the outcome was inevetible.....Not that it was good for the Israeli's but it gave Hamas a propoganda coup.....Probably what this ill-fated blocade run was designed to do....JMO
