1svelte: Trust me, I know what I am getting into. I like to hear the other side of the story. Is that ok? It's better to be open minded than to turn your back and keep a blind eye.
I learned a lot from living 5 years over seas. I almost allowed myself to be hateful, but I refuse to let myself go in that direction. It is the good people I have met from each country that reminds me that not all people from any specific nation are bad.
Very interesting choice of words, "trust me", especially in cyberspace.
Costapacket: I know France and England have a large amount of the best players in the world and produce crap.... They didnt gel........ I want a beer now....
I am man the hunter.... therefore i'm off to get pissed
Veritaas: Yes I remember it vividly, after doing an early morning session down at the local. Later that night the ceiling was moving. Was lucky I did not end up talking to myself or howling to the moon like a neighbour was at the time. And I certainly did not spend hours plastering on make up either. Crazy, very crazy.
Fatigue (as Israel was involved in the beginning of an intensive air campaign), same silhouette as an Egyptian destroyer, being fired at and not seeing any flag as the Liberty was moving so slow as well as not being where it was supposed to be all added to the confusion.

1svelte: I challenged her, and she answered quite noble. I respect that. She seems like a good woman.
A challenge from you directed at me, no, there was no challenge. Some of us around here just write exactly how we see it. Frank, and to the point.
No one person calls the shots or tries to out do another. That can have disasterous consequences on some threads, which if you stay around here you shall indeed see evidence of this. Such can lead to people getting put in the slammer for a few days and even banned permanently from the site.
There are those that like to try and wind others up in varying degrees, but all this kind of behaviour is very clear to the eye and does not escape a well peeled eye and alert brain. Easily spotted in fact.

Thanks Albert

I guess it took them over two hours to see the U.S. flag? Yeah, I have seen the pictures, and read the articles. I spot differences. But that is just me.

In response to: U.S. Naval Court of Inquiry finding number 2 states: "The calm conditions and slow speed of the ship may well have made the American flag difficult to identify." And finding number 28 states: "Flat, calm conditions and the slow five knot patrol speed of LIBERTY in forenoon when she was being looked over initially may well have produced insufficient wind for steaming colors enough to be seen by pilots".
