No you're not alone there it bugs me too. If someone cant be arsed to type full words then I cant be arsed reading it. TEXT is for texting.

It is so annoying. In text when space is an issue, fair enough. On a message board or email where there are no limitations...extremely annoying. And do not get me started on bad spellings in general

I can see its use in actual texting, and use it myself.
But in mails or posts there is no need.

we used to have a great laugh but it wrecked my head

its a bad habit to get into

ahh the odd word is grand but using it in every single word where possible confuzzles me

I hate text speak, even in texts. I always spell out the full words. My kids do too. Well they do when they're texting me anyway.
