OK. I've had a chest cold like a lot of folks for about 3 weeks and it doesn't seem to be shifting. Has anybody got any sure fire certain ideas of how to get rid of it!
Cut up a small piece of ginger and boil it with a small cup of pure drinking water. Add honey. Strain and drink when hot. Effective if you also have fever resulting from the cold. You may also drink this concoction if you feel a cold coming

You read my mind, just back from a long weekend at a wedding in France, feel's like i've had someone sitting on my chest, breathing hurt's and a deep breath brings on an outburst of coughing, woke up yesterday with a nettle rash, picked up anti inflammatories which cleared the rash, must get some ginger and honey, thanks ladies,
tartini: I think Manuka honey is so good am prepared to pay upwards of 25 euro for the stronger levels
I am amazed at the stuff apart from healing me its saved me a fortune in vet bills for my pets, it just seems to kill off any infection
oh yea an echinacea is good too but usually earlier on just as you feel the cold coming on
You use it on your pets....will it give me a shiney coat and make me chase cats?
Heading to Limerick in the next hour so I'll start with ordinary honey and the ginger. €25 for a jar! You were definately stung by a bee! (Is there Fair Trade honey so we know the bees get a fair price? )

The fizzy rubex take 2-3 at a time a few times during the day, and plenty of rest. Oh and make sure you use the ones with zinc for some reason they dont have side effects
Other cure, hot woman and a hot curry in either order

Manuka honey comes in different active grades and different prices. The most effective is Nectar-ease which contains the bee venum. I had a serious accident and rubbing manuka on the wound and taking it in my tea cured me of all ailments. Check on the internet for its healing powers. It worked for me and my sister. As regards cost. Manuka active 5 is 5/6 euros. Manuka active 15 is 9to10 euros. Nectar-ease is 17 euros but can only be taken in small doses and lasts a long time.

Can't beat a few hot whiskeys. If that doesn't sort you out, nothing will
Have black tea until hot. allow to steep for a little less than you would ordinarily. add the honey and the lemon, stir with the cinnamon stick. now the whiskey and stir again. enjoy!
