I always had very long hair until I turned 35 and wanted a complete change. The hairdresser kept saying are you sure?? Yes I said, she plaited it and chopped it all off. I loved it at first and other people thought it suited me but my ex hated it and I grew it back.

My daughter was Medusa on Hallowe'en a couple of years ago. She dyed her hair green and twisted it in pipe cleaners to make it look like a head of snakes.
When she tried to take it out, her hair was wound so tight in the wires that she was in tears with the pain... we had to cut some of it and a lot broke off.
