I used to play ventures stuff in a rock group in high school days. I played lead guitar. It was phun!
I always liked their style. It was clean, simple, and wholesome. And, of course, all instrumentals which worked well for us because we had no singer!
I tried to sing once, but after a few airborne rotten tomatoes I came to the conclusion that that crowd just wasn't ready for my style of singing yet.
