If you're talking about the entire collection of their musical works I'd have to say the Beatles hands down. Especially if that includes what they all did individually in the later years. Although they did some pretty good stuff in the early years too.

I think the Stones were better for showmanship, and pushing things to the edge, while the Beatles had more philosophical depth to their lyrics.

If I was stranded on an island and I could only choose the complete works of either of these groups it would have to be the Beatles. I think the Stones would become boring after a while, whereas the Beatles had a wider range of music. I imagine they had a much larger collection of music too over the years. Not real sure about that, but I would be surprised if I'm wrong. The Beatles wrote a LOT of stuff.

Having seen the Stones, I would say that they are an excellent live band, even though most of them should know better.

But I would say that the Beatles were a better rock and roll band.

I personally disliked their late 60s/early 70s stuff.

Their early stuff was classic and timeless.

As a result, I would go for the Stones.

But overall - Pink Floyd!
