Hi folks you probably rightly wonder what this thread is about right ?
It's about the English language.
English is English !!!!
Well I beg to differ on this subject.
I usually don't have a problems understanding other accents, even languages in the English speaking world.
But then again when I come across a Scotsman from Glasgow I wheel.
The same would apply to some of the Irish accents in my case.
Once I talked to a black guy from Nigeria and didn't catch on to him speaking English since I only heard guttural sounds.
I consider i.e. Australian and New Zealand English a different language, although English, since different words, idioms etc are being used.I would count the North American English a different language compared to the Queen's English.
Well if you know some funny stories about this subject or squeeze your mustard into this thread you are more that welcome. What I wrote is simply my opinion and not necessarily a fact.So let's hear it from ya.
I got this Scottish friend who used to call me on my cell phone but I simply couldn't make out what the heck he was saying so I told him to text me from now on.So we got that one squared away.
