scottyburd: Roddy Doyle's The Snapper..Brilliant comedy..

thumbs up Doyle's a brilliant author and one of my favourites.

I don't think I have a favourite book - just as I don't have a favourite piece of music - though there are many I admire and some that have opened my eyes, entertained and inspired me.

I'm only reading in my bathtub blushing laugh

but you think, "Love in the time of cholera" could be a book, who keeps me back in the bathtub until I've to change the water again as it got cold?
that of my one glas of wine I use to drink beside, could get the whole bottle?
the water will get cold again but I wont realize it anymore as I got so caught in that story?
and I will only stop reading, as the candles burned down and I cannot see anymore??? wow

laugh

actually it sounds good to me too grin

I think you could Love "The Whitest Flower" of Brandan Graham wink

"Across the river and into the trees" is a book I adored - rught up there with Jane Eyre as a quality romantic novel. A real surprise from Hemingway.

I wanted to sit in Harry's Bar in Venice and have a drink, just because of it and to soak some of it. Sadly the bar is small and was overloaded with mountains of garish Crimplene from a cruise ship and my then g/f wouldn't indulge me....

Love in time of cholera is a good one!

My daughter just gave me:
The 48 laws of power by Robert Greene and Joost Elfers.
Quite interesting!

La setta, Alessandro Baricco.
A love story related to the commerce of silk in old times and the love letter is..............you have to read it!
(italian)

There is also a film for it.
