kielybear: So is anyone watching it this year? I haven't watched the last few seasons of the show but this year i got watching it and became hooked...lol I am very impressed with the talent on it this year.So who do you think will win it???

I dont watch it, I just dont agree with it at all, They get a bunch of reasonably talented people pit them together, pit them against each other , They are all so desperate for fame its sad really, I`m surprised none of the past contestants have commited suicide since "this was their life" and now they have nothing and are back working in tesco stacking shelves, Its 1 hell of a come down and its preying on vulnerable people,
I could name at least 10 past contestants who have faded fom the lime light and are average everyday people now, They were used by the show like guinea pigs

What about the ones that are still around? How sad is it that the winners usually had number 1 singles??? how many people will ever experience it? dunno

The winners usually get a 12 month contract i think and when thats up its usually back to normal everyday life as I said what a come down for anybody who got sucked up into believing all the nonsense that show pedals, Where is that guy shane ward from a few years back??
he had a few good songs now he is cast aside, what about leon who won it 2 years ago, He another 1 who has been cast aside, used by simon cowell for his own personal gain,
Not many of them are stll producing records, leona lewis is the only real success story compared to the rest , having a number 1 hit is not sad at all, but these are normal everyday people who say they need this and this is all they want in their life, what way do you think they feel when the record company drops thenm? they have nothing then

Oh in that sense i agree with you and it must be a hard landing, but in any aspect in life these things happen, how many professional musicians really obtain longevity? In the big scheme of things, not a lot of people are ever lucky enough to get to record deal to begin with.Would we have ever heard the likes of Susan boyle or mary byrne if it was not from these shows???
