Unfortunately the educational systems & society have not prepared people for such a life.
New Age truths are not taught at an elementary level & it would be great if we had "Awakened People" in Government, Education,
Politics, etc! TV & the media doesn't freely distribute these esotheric values either!
So, as the great Mathama said " you can't change the world but you can change yourself! Be the change, you want to see in people!"
Let there be so great a change in yourself - that people can see & be effected by the Divine Light emanating from you. You can be a channel to change people purely by your own selfless actions.
There are many of these "Light Workers" out in the world & they will effect change in society, one at a time!
People will start to live in the NOW!

the NOW sure puts Bread on your Table the day after tomorrow!
Some can live in the NOW,because others take responsibility to plan ahead!
That's what the NOWs are profiting from!

I plan for the future,but I DON'T PREDICT THE RESULT,because if it doesn't happen..I'm setting myself up for disappointment.

Also,in my experience...what I WORRY ABOUT SOMETIMES..doesn't happen anyways..so why worry?

If I kill a humane being for no justified reason at "the NOW". Will I face the consequences for that crime in the FUTURE or not to worry about tomorrow,it will never come?? comfort

People have a variety of emotional needs and in order for them to feel psychologically healthy, these needs have to be met - it simply isnt enough to live in the now, believe me, Ive tried it. As the needy beings we are we need food, shelter, safety, love, belonging etc and these things need to be worked on and nurtured so sometimes, instead of staying in the cumfy cocoon of love as we would like, we have to face the realities and realise what is or isnt fulfilling or emotional needs and make adjustments accordingly in order to plan for a more fulfilling future and once basic human givens have been met, then it more possivle to live in the now but as others have said, society is hardly geared to the emotional needs of the collective - its all rather more cruelly centered around a dog eat dog kind of mentality - imo of course....

The link is to Maslows Hierarchy of Needs - an interesting little bit of info;

We also live in a world of cause and effect. You cannot dance around this. The effect may be 30 years from now but it will happen. by then you have forgotten the cause and so will repeat the same mistake again. Yes there is ways to negate the effect but very few understand how to do this.wow

Wouldn't looking at it from another way that sense the future is just a bunch of now as is the past. Wouldn't you say that every moment is a now and it is how we handle this moment that effects the future now.popcorn hug

Yes, absolutely, but we still need to keep those needs met which necessitates stepping out of the hedonistic glow from time to time laugh wave

It is said that if your suffering you are holding the past Nows. If you are anxious you are holding the futrure Nnows. So if we can drop the past and the future this to me would be living in the Now.wink
