I created this topic out of curiosity. I have read the other topic about how often you use your phone, where the call time was the basis for frequency of phone use. Let's talk about SMS usage here.I just want to compare how people from around the world use the messaging functions of the phone. For the two weeks that I have been using my phone, the message counter reads:
Sent text msgs: 261 Sent picture msgs: 0
Do you people use messaging more than voice calls? In my case, it turns out that way.

I mostly text but actually far prefer chatting. It's just that chatting costs a whole lot more! The thing with communicating via sms is that words can be misinterpreted.
If you say this seriously, you should also take into account the radiation from placing the cell phone next to your ears. I know... the mobile service providers say there is no/negligible radiation... but I don't believe them.

Yes and this typing, and personal letters can be misinterperated too, I have had several things that have been misunderstood, on typing letters and posts, as with a phone it can usually be caught before tomorrow or forever... and some with not so good of english, is even worst... so Yes I can relate to what you are saying Quite well...

I'd rather call as texting costs extra.
When I'm at the family camp, I have to turn my cell phone off as there is no service due to being in a valley. If I leave it on, it drains the battery searching for service.

I just checked the counter on mine, I have the phone about 4/5 weeks
734 incoming 100 outgoing, but I think it only saves that many and auto deletes the older ones.
My 'plan' allows for unlimited free SMS to other mobiles on the same network.
I also get updates from the kids schools by text for things going on there. This time of year there's a lot on so that has pushed up the number of SMS somewhat.

I got a smart phone so it would be easyer to send sms with my bad eyes. I send about 40 sms messages a week. more then some way wya way wya wya way way way way way way less then others. it is a good way to get info or chat with someone and be discreet about it. Some voices carry more than others. Mine being one of them.
