Albertaghost: When did they not Ant? Seems to me, they were the ones who were attacked in 1948 by nine Arab entitles and have been at war ever since. In your cartoon world when one is attacked and wins, you are not allowed to occupy the territory you were attacked from until the peace treaty is signed?

Of course, it is allowed to occupy it according to the rules of war.
But it means that they are away from their borders. That is a fact (letting alone the settling policies and other pearls), so thanks for helping me putting that fact ahead. Because that fact is very close to the program of Eretz Israel.

Israel State: "Oh it is not my fault that I am retaining this land, but actually that is part of Eretz Israel..".... what a coincidence, eh?

Israel with a reserve fed military cannot sustain long term military campaigns and defensive measures hence the need to settle the land so that the reservists needed to guard it are already in place - living there.

A coincidence that occurs all over the world from Germany with US troops to South Korea and so on. Israel has returned land to belligerents who have made peace with her, it is the one tactic the Palestinians have never truly tried.professor

ttom500: LOL......right I am mad with power......Netanhyu has 5.5m behind him.....Hamas, Hezbolloh, Iran with the Supreme Leader rep the 360m Shia, Syria has 400m behind them. Abbas is just trying to get his 2.5m Palestine out of the way coming crush of national states and radical Islamic ideologies.

What is sick.....is when a Iranian get hung.....for spying for Israel.....and the Cleric courts of Iran.....don't release any evidence to his guilt. After throwing the guy into Evin Prison and getting 'confessions' from him.

Maybe you could inquire to see how Iran got confessions from a man that knew if he confessed.....he would be executed. Could you do that for us, SB?

SilverBirch: So Israel is that bloody paranoid that conflict is the only way they are going to force Zionism down the throat of the rest of the world?
Sick ttom. I think you and Netanyahu are mad with power.

SB the only one jamming anything is you....with the words I am using. You know how I can say that if Hamas or Hezbolloh got free in Isreal....it would be worse than the Russians in Berlin after the fall?

Yasser Arafat's funeral, SB.

40,000 to 50,000 men....without restraint or without discpline.
That was the first time...up close....I saw the Muslim street in action.

Now...Arafat was leader and hero to them....but they had absolutely no restraint or discpline or respect of him. It was just one mass mob.

Oh their emotions got the better of them. There passion for Arafat. Baloney. These are same men that are trained to march in unison. I thought for a time it was staged. But it was not. It was just the Muslim street, SB. Totally controlled.

Arafat was barely buried in the grave.....and Hamas was killing Fatah leaders. 19 if I remember right. Killed them in a meeting.
With AK-47s. And Netanhyu is power hungry?

Put yourself in the position of Netanhyu....or other Isreali leader....as they watched Arafat's funeral on TV. What do you think that they would be saying? Thinking?

It was so bad....they could not even show the actual burial. Just the mass street scenes. Mob pressing to the Helos.

Now you want us to believe that the world so pities or envies the Hamas and Hezbolloh...that these two can and will buddies buddies with Isreal? That Isreal does not have a security problem with both?

I know you are going to say "different culture mumbo jumbo", SB. But Arafat funeral was the poorest display of human grief expression one will ever witnesses. That is who you really are standing up for. So that is why I can say that.

You are lucky that Netanhyu is even talking with Abbas at this point.jmo

"But Silverbunny, Israel's official position is to live in peace with it's neighbors, it is the Palestinian position to not do so with Israel. IN fact, this may come as a shock to you but the official position of the Palestinian governments is to destroy Israel so, any conflict is the fault of the Palestinians until they remove this position and replace it with a more peaceful one such as Israel has."

As well, the UN Charter states that a nation has the right to protect itself so, the settlements are part of that protection against an enemy who has consistently attacked Israel since 1948 when they accepted the UN Resolution 181 and were only intent on living in peace with their neighbors. So, which high international court has stated that Israel's actions are counter to UN Charter and has made provisions to see to it that Israel will be protected against those who have sworn to muder every one of them?confused

Again, in your typical condescending manner, you try and paint this picture of a lamb surrounded by wolves. But the reality ttom is the opposite. Israel kills on average one hundred Palestine s a month ttom.

Let's see, that's one thousand two hundred a year.

Population of Gaza and the West Bank is four million.

The population increases at a rate of two point seven percent Silverbunny, that's with these deaths to give a mean increase of one hundred forty thousand a year.

So, you were lying when you said;

SilverBirch: But Pip-squeak, in the mean time Israel IS KILLING EVERY LAST ONE OF THE PALESTINES

Now,if nobody was trying to murder every last Israeli then nobody would have to die. Imagine that Silverbunny. Take the destruction of Israel from their charter and nobody has to die.confused

Well....let me see...under your theory ....Netanhyu should either resign and let a peace nik Isreali have the Presidency OR tear down the borders walls, pull the settlers out of the east back settlement and suspend all Isreali advance weapons system development. Then....and only then can a fair and just peace be signed?

Because of that is the objective, SB.....it ain't going to happen.

You are going to have to learn to live with some hardline Isreali....that have fought in more wars than we have. Not only that, Isreali technically are doing weapon development that is as good as if not better than our own. They are not going to give it up. They are not going to let nation states like Iran and Syria get them into a defensive war.

So?

My suggestion is support the Abbas/Netanhyu peace talks. Bite your tongue and hold your nose if you don't like the smell. But it is better for 2.5m Palestine to have one, than not to.

Because....the historical numbers you are showing....are very small to the potential numbers that Isreal can lay out in the future. Call it what you want....peace under pressure....forced capitulation....peace without honor....blab blab blab......

Because when Isreal begins to field this stuff....the days of throwing rocks at check points is over with....the days of crude missile launches into Israel is over with.

''From today s Washington Post

JERUSALEM -- Israel's prime minister said Monday that if negotiations don't resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he could seek an interim accord instead of the comprehensive deal the United States wants. Palestinians reject that idea.

The Palestinian seek a state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip with a capital in east Jerusalem. Years of peace talks have failed over key issues such as the status of east Jerusalem - with its sites holy to Christians, Jews and Muslims - and the fate of Palestinians displaced during the war surrounding Israel's creation, and their millions of descendants.

Netanyahu said he would not divide Jerusalem and would insist on an Israeli military presence in the Jordan River valley, the eastern edge of the West Bank - ideas also rejected by the Palestinians. doh

Seeing as how they obviously are not attempting to deliberately kill Palestinians they are simply defending. Perhaps the Palestinians might take the reason they need to defend themselves from their charter.
