Ok, I'm a bit confused . I moved to Ireland 4 months ago and I have made the following experience a number of times since I'm here:

Meeting a woman who seems really interested (for a date or in a club). Then all of the sudden they turn around and take another guy (in a club) or they write me a message that they are now dating someone else (when dating).

Now if I wouldn't have had reasonable success with finding girlfriends outside of Ireland (from various countries) I would start to think that something is wrong with me. But this has only happened to me in Ireland with Irish women (and on numerous occasions)... My last experiance was meeting a girl for a date after which we both thought it was really great. We chatted quite often on MSn and she constantly told me how much she looks forward to seeing me again (which was supposed to be this Friday). She still told me that yesterday. Now I got a message saying 'sorry i found someone else'. Now this kind of thing can happen but since I'm in Ireland it happend all the time! What is that?! dunno

Is there any secret I don't know about?!

this has happened twice in a club. although i have to say that they were a bit drunk.

I don't mean to say anything unfriendly but this last message has really disappointed me because we really got along well. And I was really sure she thought the same.

Well, in relation to online, it seems often people chat to a few to keep their options open. I think it also depends on what you have been talking about/looking for. As for clubs, well..often girls are just out to have fun and there is a lot of drink involved. Looks like you are going for the wrong type of girl.

I'm no expert whenit comes to women but as a non Irishman I have noticed something similar.

I'll be plodding along with a new aquaintance and we seem to get on, to understand each other and to enjoy each others company. I would even say we have emotional intimacy.

Then as soon as I express an interest in romance, I'm met with a cold shoulder and avoided like the plague!

I've sort of come to terms that for me, an Irish woman is just not really an option. They don't think the way other women think!

dunno

You could have a point there. I'm half German and been in Germany quite a bit and have to say, there's a massive cultural difference. The whole dating thing is so different to here, don't know if a German guy would survive here, he'd get eaten alive cool

yeah i get you... but i have met women from many countries but here things seem to be really different somehow. but yeah sometimes i feel like irish women are culturally more different from my own than say iranian, russian or american women (choose any country). it has been a rather confusing and sometimes painful experience.

maybe you just got to be more blunt in how you approach it, when im dating i take it one at a time i expect whoever im dating to be the same i state it clearly that what they do is there own business but that if im just an option then remove me as an option because thats not how i do things dunno

what do you mean by that 'eaten alive'? i don't even know how dating in germany is, haven't lived there for 20 years. but what are the differences in your opinion? my past experiences have always confirmed my belief that people are people no matter where they are from but since i'm in ireland im not so sure anymore :).
