Keith, we are in much the same position. No cold water at all. Using bottled water for cooking. And the turkey, which I bought frozen this year cos it was cheaper, isn't defrosted even though its been out of the freezer for more than 60 hours so we are just having ham. So I am making garlic potatoes instead of roasties and some mushroom sauce.
However, there's a good coal fire in the grate and I am warm and toastie in my new pjs and furry slippers that I got from my kids. There are kids films on the tv and we have about 20 new dvds to watch if we get bored. Oh, and I have already finished the baileys and started on the red wine.
