Coming out Party (98)

I have a confession to make - I can't and don't dance. I'd love to but.....Ok I won't go there.

Also, I wish....well....Oh I don't wunna make people mad at me, but....Well why does everything have to be about drinking? There's more to life. I used to go pubbing with some friends, who would get plastered. I wouldn't drink one bit yet I would have more fun and be more daring and outrageous and outgoing than all of them. I would actually embarrass them. Yet I wasn't drunk, I made a lot more sense, and I enjoyed it more because I was 'with it' and I also remembered it all afterwards.

I'm not a prude and I'm not lecturing, but I can't drink for medical reasons so I've never touched a drop, so I can't understand why it's so normal to get totally out of your head, and almost everyone always jokes about how much they drink. I know I'm the odd one out, so there's no need to have a go at me. I just always feel so out of place when I'm the ONLY one who feels like this, almost in the entire world.

I don't drink however I connect them to an IV drip .. hence I could eat without interruption . Drinking is not good for you .

darling misery guts how i love you.. im not drunk either but its nice to pretend.. i do like red wine tho.. and as for dancing ..well i think by law once you pass 40 one should be banned cos everyone knows the 40th birthday heralds the end of your sense of rythm..so ill just get down and boogey and I LUV YA

Zedbra - I also dont drink a lot - the most is a couple of glasses of wine so I know how you feel and I hate to see people getting fallen down drunk. I can enjoy myself just as much without drink and anyhow I hate the headaches the next day.

I'm not sure how to reply, but....Well I'll just say thanks cos I'm not sure what else to say, and I know you're being kind to me, as always, and it's always very much appreciated.

I've only danced properly once in my life - It was a slow dance that I was physically forced into. It was by a VERY stunning lady who was slightly older than me. It was when I was working and she was a Manager in another department and we were all at a Christmas party. After that evening she NEVER talked to me, never even made eye-contact with me and would take a different route down the corridoor if she saw me coming in her direction. She was drunk at the time you see, very very drunk. So my conclusion afterwards was obvious, but of course everyone will tell me I'm wrong if I stated it! LOL. It didn't help my confidence though.
