Seems all of these dating sites books are full of lonely singles from the outer burbs.
Either that or they're just over represented.
Is there a certain attraction to outer suburbia for the average single?
Maybe the mortgage belt just puts more pressure on relationships and this could be why these areas have so many singles.

probably cos its harder to meet people the further out you go ...less people =less choice further to travel etc...

I get the point about cheaper to buy.
Probably why I bought in Wonthaggi as homes in inner Melb are so expensive now even for just a flat.
Distance is no obstacle for me even if it is 1hr just to get to Dandenong, being in the country makes up for the traffic jams and pollution you get in the city.

distance is about attitude. I know people who think that driving to the next suburb is some sort of epic journey of Homeric proportions ... I like driving, doesnt worry me, unless I feel that Im being taken advantage of.

I have a friend who traveling a few kms is a huge thing and I understand their reasons but it also limits their life so much.

and for some people, the effort of driving to the next suburb isnt worth the effort when you get there either!

laugh

I dont actually drive a car but I do ride a maxiscooter, so as long as it isnt torrential rain or cyclonic gales it isnt a problem for me either.

Actually it is a bonus... I get the excuse to go for a ride!motorcycle

The distance thing for me to Melb is nothing compared to where some members live.
ie: 1 & 1/2hr to Melb or 45 min. to Cranbourne or Pakenham.
Limiting your choices because of distance could be narrowing down the gene pool IMO, lol

Distance is nothing, finding the right connection is grin

I will drive, jump on a plane and do whatever I have to if the correct person is worth it and will not limit my findings just to local as there is nobody that I have connected with locally.

So if you are serious, think outside the square wine

ps. And my trip was worth it, I meet an amazing guy when we both made the effort to meet each other with 7hrs between us wine

i've never been afraid to travel to meet someone, and i'm not bothered about travelling in my life in general. 100km round trip to work daily, often travel by road, interstate for race meetings (approx 8 times a year). travelling is fun.

it can be overcome..I live 9517 Miles away from the love of my life at the moment! But we talk every day, sometimes 3 or 4, and we are still very much a part of each others lives, joint decisions, communication, trust, honour, respect, patience, tolerance and HOPE is all you need!

tarnsnz: Well, thought since this is a dating site, some of us had better get out there and add some more positive experiences to the forums

As always, when you least expect it, good things can happen

This is so true Tarnz. I went to twilight Golf last night. Wasn't expecting much out of myself, And it was suppose to be wet and windy.

It wasn't. The weather was beautiful. conditions awesome (though the greens were a tad slow) And i played a scorcher. Our team came third. We got a bar tab.
Good things come when you least expect it. laugh kiss

Or were you talking about love doh laugh
