TBH, and speaking for myself here, most of us probably don`t really know.
IME, it is the same the other way `round too. Before joining here, I was on geek2geek for a while, sent out a number of mails (especially when someone "winked" at me - same as the flowers here) but never received a single reply.
Do women get cold feet when facing an honest mail? I mean one not couched in "yes, I am loving, caring, tender hearted, intelligent, tall, handsome and love all animals and nature, etc...
My own solution is to just let the mystery stand as is, and hope for the best...
