Well, there is some research that say that the global warming that is now happening is totaly natural. That it is a part of the earths cycle.

As we all know we have had colder and warmer periods on the earth before, the last cold one was in, about, the 16-centry if i remember correctly.

So whats happening now, i belive, is that the planet is heating up as it has done before, that its totaly natural and nothing, or very little, to do with what we have done to it in forms of explotation and industrial developement.

So id say keep it going till there is certain proof that it is really us and not the planet thats making this happen. And if it reduces world population in any way id say its a good thing as we are overpopulated. Areas that can not support its population should have a reduced population that it can support by itself and not beeing supported by others.

i do not own or support an automobile and gave my car up 10 years ago especially as my personal contribution to the effort. i did it for myself. so i could have a little less contradiction in my lifestyle.... i still have more to do.....

a never ending work of art in progress.....

we recycle everything we can..... we ride our bikes all year and in the snow or rain... we wear sweaters till nov. and do our best to not turn on the thermostat till after nov.5th....just a random date.... we do laundry once a week, and even conserve our showers....

working in countries where water is a luxury does that to ya!
occupational hazzards i guess hahahhahaaa.....

body oils are better immune system protection anyway and no one has ever suggested we smell bad so i guess we're still not too asocial lol!

it's a simple and great life!

On water conservation, I think that we need more "turkish style" bath houses something like the saunas up in Sweden; well run and very clean and very comfortable, open to the public.%)
(makes for nice socializing; nice place for a date...)

Yes I care very deeply about global warming

We don’t care about the planet
Because we think its someone else’s problem and not ours

I believe global warming will be our species last battle the one that will make or brake us

As a species we are bad smokers
I think we will finish the packet

Just so you know, I truly care. And I have made some serious choices in life to do my very best to contribute to changing for the better.

First, I left the US. It is a culture that promotes consumption on a gluttonous and irresponsible level, merely to promote capitalism. It is a system on self-destruct. SADLY we will all go down with it.

Secondly, I choose to live a simple life. I bike to work. I take public transport when I can. I buy things that don’t come in absurd amounts of packaging, and I try to listen to other ways to make a change.

But ultimately, it is all in vein. I am like the rest of those that somehow care but don’t know how to really change this extraordinary crisis we are heading for. AND I deeply regret passing on a plant to children that will be rot with environmental problems, simply because of a gluttonous lifestyle promoted by a capitalist society.

Bush & Blair are only part of the problem, they have to keep their machines oiled, this a tough call for them because they are locked into oil based economies, like most western based capitalist developments.

There is no quick fix for global warming in sight, because the very people that are raising the alarm have a vested interest in their own futures which is disconnect from the time scale of the planets, in short we live for now.

History shows we don’t care for the environmental legacy we leave for others, so why now
As a species we have never experienced the true nature of the planet we inhabit, because we’ve only been around for a few seconds in the over all time scale of her berth.

From the outside looking in, it seems the planet is heating up
Geological time shows us she has cycles, of cooling and heating, so why is she heating now
(Is it a coincidence that as global industrial development gathers pace fuelled by Unprecedented technological advances, global warming increases expediently) interesting.
Given the time scale and the laws of chance it seems very unlikely, but not impossible

So we have a major problem to address, if we guess right we go to the next level, guess wrong and its curtains for our species

Good for you Donna
You have a cool outlook and I’m sure a bright future
Just do what you can; yes it is sad the legacy we leave for our children, my heart goes out to someone as young as you

We are “global environmental abusers” by default
This problem has a history that was never in our hands
We were told to be productive it’s drummed into us from birth
Our cultures our religions all tell us this

If we are to address global warming in a radical fashion, then there will be more losers than winners
And that‘s not the sort of thing and government wants to implement on its own
It has to be conscientious of the whole planet; this could mean a global industrial downturn

Can you really see that happening?

When we can’t agree on whether, global warming is really happening or whether it’s perhaps some natural cycle the plant is putting into place to adjust to our impact,

My worry is that if we act in haste without understanding what’s really happening to her eco system
Then we might put the planet into a chaotic political spin, which might see us going to war, to get those countries into line that don’t support the idea of radical industrial downturn.

What ever happens we need to come together in a global way, set aside differences, so that we can take care of our planet, I’m ever hopeful that we can do this; history shows our species has true grit when faced with insurmountable odds
That time well soon be upon us

Watch this space
