It should not be a battle of who's the best parent,it should be about the care of the child, making sure the child is safe and knows they are loved.doh

Of course D. It absoloutely should be. However, the courts have made it into a business. Like farming our kids. I think a lot of manipulation goes on in terms of both parties. They really provoke the mothers anger and fear and they line men up like shooting seals in a barrel.. while they are too bewildered to know whats happening. In the end the kids pay for the anomosity. That why my Ex and I made our own agreement and told the court what we wanted. We simply used the courts to make it official. wine

I agree with you, however the "Child first policy" adopted in many countries is only a soundbite... Kids should always be put first and NOT used as pawns in the battles of adults..... We should be ashamed that we, as a society, fail them so often

Woman today are experiencing happier marriages then at any time in history, probably for three reasons .
1.Many woman can afford to walk out of a bad marriage to make a better one.
2.With the current emphasis on companionship with in marriage, woman today expect more from their partnership and are working harder on their relationships.
3.Woman are refusing to settle for a loveless relationship

(the same can be said for men)

It's true that some women don't have to be just a housewife and mother nowadays cause their children are placed in childcare and they hire someone to clean their homes.

trish123: I dont know how it works over there Blarney but a friend of mine here has been allowed to do the training to represent women in court in the same way that a solicitor would, is that what you're doing?

NO.. it our aim to remove family law from the courts altogether... there's new EU directives which will make mediation compulsory prior to going to court...... Mediation is al about conflict resolution by getting both side to make their own agreement, with you mediating in the middle.. Far cheeper and more likely to stick to an agreement that you were involved in making
