blarneykite: NO.. it our aim to remove family law from the courts altogether... there's new EU directives which will make mediation compulsory prior to going to court...... Mediation is al about conflict resolution by getting both side to make their own agreement, with you mediating in the middle.. Far cheeper and more likely to stick to an agreement that you were involved in making

bringing children into the world is done with such nonchalance...
In contemporary, I guess, the main point in our change, we figure out we have to love our ourselves, at first and then share it. In our past, fairy tales always gave us the impression, that could only be happy with someone else.

SUNSHINEB0Y: ...there are many many relationships that go a lifetime, you just don't hear of many in these places. these places are full of people who are damaged by divorces and failed relationships.
Exactly true. I know lots of people who have been married for decades. I was happily married for 20 years. And those who say people may stay married but are really unhappy don't know what they are talking about....they must be someone cynical who has only experienced unhappy, failied relationships.

Have you met every married couple on the planet and interviewed them to see if their marriage is a happy one?
I've seen unhappy marriages where the couple have stuck it for religious reasons, some for the sake of the kids and family, and one where they were both just too damn greedy to split everything up.
Yep, they're still together, and I think it's the smart ones that get divorced in situations like that.
Nothing cynical about it, just reality, and before you ask, I've never been married, or had a "bad relationship".
