In past centuries most woman died young.Today they are enjoying their senior years. No longer do woman have to be just a housewife and mother. They can explore their opportunities in a wider world.

Woman today are experiencing happier marriages then at any time in history, probably for three reasons .
1.Many woman can afford to walk out of a bad marriage to make a better one.
2.With the current emphasis on companionship with in marriage, woman today expect more from their partnership and are working harder on their relationships.
3.Woman are refusing to settle for a loveless relationship

I agree with what you are saying.

I think it is sad though that so many relationships fail these days.

We live is such a disposable world. I often wonder the secret to couples that have been together for years and years.

I don't think we are meant to be monogamous ~
That's why there are so many failures.

We should enjoy each journey as it comes, and not worry.

Yes I think we often take for granted the freedom and ability to make our own decisions and choices now compared to years ago. I can't imagine how soul destroying it must have been for our sisters back then blues

I fully believe that we have the capacity to love many, but therein lies the choice of loving and committing to one if that is what people desire. I think sometimes as well, people get so caught up in what they don't have, and fail to see the beauty of what they do.

Sad but true, whats that old saying, you don't realize what you had till it is gone, but its not true in all cases.I did a dance when i got rid of my second husband,he was a loser.I hate to think how my life would have been like if i had to stay with that man.thumbs down

That's not a problem if a person is someone who can handle commitment and doesn't even think of straying. But maybe I'm not the norm... dunno

All of what you say above is true, and equality is nearer for women than ever before However would you agree that men deserve to be equal too, when it comes to family breakdown and their children??

Well in my mind too much choice trivialises everything. It's little wonder commitment to one disappears when it's so easy to be distracted by the many.
