That would make me a year older crying

Can you make it 75, that way I would be able to run faster and beat Jimbo to the free bread and milk cheering

I've got my landline phone disconnected. I've cancelled a couple of insurance policies. I've changed my electricity from ESB to Airtricity. I changed to a "cheaper" mobile phone plan... which turned out to be more expensive so that will be re-evaluated tomorrow.

I buy toiletries, cleaning stuff and even toilet rolls in discount shops. I buy value brand groceries, dog food etc. I buy the cheapest vegetables I can find and make my own soup instead of packets. I freeze as much food as possible and only defrost a portion at a time.

And still I struggle to pay my bills.

doh

Oh the life I will have when the kids are finished college and I don't have to keep 3 households!!!

daydream daydream

I started shopping in Lidl the day after it opened in the town I live in, as a single person with no dependents I struggle to spend more than 50 yoyos in there at a time, in other supermarkets, 50 yoyos is gone on a basket. I also keep an eye on their weekly specials and have bought everything from socks to fleeces, bulbs for my car to tools in their.
(some of the stuff is pure crap so I try to avoid the worst of it.)

If I see an offer for 50% extra on a nonperishable item, I will buy 2, I get cleaning products in the Euro/Price saver shops, and buy the biggest one possible as it works out cheaper.

I buy as much as possible of other consumables on-line, as even with postage, it works out much, much cheaper.
I try not to use the car at the weekends if possible.

I keep a closer eye on the gas usage, and I invested in some LED light bulbs as they use less electricity, and last way longer (best bought on-line as the ones in the shops are way over priced.)

I am however a smoker, but fortunately I have family who live abroad, and worked out, that if I go over 2 times a year, buy as much tobacco as I can get away with, the savings will pay for the flights, give me spending money, with dosh left over and I get to see my family too.
