Paldi5: How about term limits?

Yes. And, one term per level.

Paldi5: Eliminate the two party system in the US and other countries favoring a single party system supported by primary elections.. no more than 4 or 5 candidates per position, with run-offs if necessary to choose the winers.

Yes.

Paldi5: End Lobbying

Yes.

Paldi5: Break up the big banks by setting limits on the total of their deposits

Maybe.

Paldi5: Eliminate or sharply reduce the maximum dollar amount that can be charged on credit cards and reduce the interest rates

No. At least a blanket amount not based on income, ability to pay back and credit history.

Paldi5: Cap the spread between interest paid on savings and interest charged on loans

No. Free enterprise where there's a seller for every buyer and the market sets the price.

Paldi5: Move the UN off American soil and charge maintence on a per capita basis based on population of member states
Abolish the veto power of the UNSC.

Yes, yes and no. Move it off shore charge appropriately but the veto has to stay as it is a method of averting global war between the power states.

Paldi5: Reduce the army air force and navy to defense needs only

Already is. America has interests all over the glob and needs to protect those interests otherwise they will not remain their interests for long.

Get rid of the interests and then down scale as you suggest.

Paldi5: Stop the sale of weapons to anyone and reduce or eliminate military aid

No. An invitation for other countries to sell arms to influence and shape the world they wish it to be.

Paldi5: Limit the number of military stationed over seas except in time of war

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Sides, the threat of war is always there and, as well, you said, that the military should be reduced to defense only.

All in all, good ideas and some outstanding and others needing a lot of work. thumbs up

I'd be willing to accept usuary revision. 18.5 percent is too high.

the list of power states needs revision then. Or what issues can be vetoed perhaps, and what can't.

Already is. America has interests all over the globe and needs to protect those interests otherwise they will not remain their interests for long.

I'm a bit of an isolationist, but willing to give more to military forces run by UN for global issues and for NATO and other regional peacekeeping groups.

No. An invitation for other countries to sell arms to influence and shape the world they wish it to be.

arms control and anti-proliferation agreements need to be expanded and enforced

All in all, good ideas and some outstanding and others needing a lot of work.

Unfortunately these steps will only tend to weaken the "unseen forces of evil" not kill them off.

you have to remove the power behind the scenes first before any thought of implementation can have any success, no matter what scenario can be brought to the negotiating table.

the corruption is just too deeply embedded.

it must be done as a treaty and signed by every country on the planet or they will face serious retaliation by factions beyond their control.

the power must be taken out of their hands before serious change can taker place.

I really do hope you understand where I'm coming from and can see the entire picture? you have to be on the outside looking in to fully appreciate the magnitude of what "must" be achieved in order to bring balance without compromise handshake

Looking_Heart: yeah i was kinda curious about that myself.

I think the hidden powers that be just give orders to people and let them dialect the manipulation. it all brings it back to the shell game. its never the right answer, but they always continue working the game in their favor.now the question is, how do we secretly trip up their game in our favor

Just back from a Republican political event talking about Tea Party agendas. So a little energized but tired of sitting. LOL

"Working the game in their favor" suggests finding what our game is and setting it in motion using the same dialectic tactics, coupled perhaps with the power of music, the internet, populist religion or more religious interbreeding (Cat Stevens becomes a Muslim. Jews for Jesus, Catholics try welcoming Protestants, Shia patches things up with Sunni), Populist politics (Kennedy, Reagan, Schwarzenegger), barter for services, perhaps an alternative form of money. This will take generations.

And a question for you all:

Is there anything about globalization we should consider keeping or is it better to go small, and break everything big into bits?

Albertaghost: Actually, I haven't changed my stance at all. I don't believe there is any vast conspiracy where there is some entity controlling us. As I stated, and, we both agree, it is we who control.
Camel Dung. Rahm Emanuel spent 16 million dollars to win the 400 G per year mayoral contest in Chicago ,..that s AFTER he spent twice that squirming into the Chief of Staff position with Obama just to cut and run to a more advantageous squirm confused

And, as we said, it is up to the voters in the end to make an informed choice as they are the ones in control.

break it all up. its easier to manage and scrutinize, plus it gives more people opportunity to have a greater voice and employment opportunities.

we could actually run the governments of the world from our homes and save trillions wink

The power behind the scenes has been building for a couple centuries. Can it really be torn down quickly -or- do we try to weaken them first, which was my initial thought.

A major overthrow is, like you say, a planet wide thing. We don't have anything (except the laughable and divided UN) that can rouse a world voice.

"Their" power seems to be money, interest on loans. How does anyone take that power away and leave civilization functioning?

An alternative monitary system not controlled by "them" seems unlikely but the internet could provide some way to do it, but it would be just another fiat money not based on anything of value. Maybe I just don't see it.

When we figure that out, then we'll need a crisis!

A new massiah?

Aliens visiting?

A threat to Earth from asteroids or comets creating a crisis that tips things in "our" favor?

Or maybe something smaller. A new Bob Marley sings a song that goes viral?

I want my MTV! And somebody in a garage will soon see that and sock it to me all over again.

I dunno how much "civilization" we can give up by breaking everyting into tiny micromanaged town goverments and local shopping malls.

So I need more convincing.

who is the power behind the scenes and why is it that they are globally combined in one cohesive unit and, can control every politician who was voted in by the people?

Looking_Heart: it must be done as a treaty and signed by every country on the planet or they will face serious retaliation by factions beyond their control.

Could you name some of these factions as I would like to look them up.

Looking_Heart: the power must be taken out of their hands before serious change can taker place.

I'm trying to understand but need some certain questions answered first as I don't join in a movement, group, of activity unless I understand it to some degree.

first you must compile a list of who's pulling the strings globally.

then you have to create a non-corruptible global army to eliminate the sources.

the problem is the corruption will continue to manifest as competition moves into position. so the bodies will just have to keep hitting the floor until you've broken all their backs and their will to continue on in that negativity. i guess, i see no other feasible solution dunno

The local republicans are very anti teacher's unions and think the teachers are soon going to be paid like doctors. It costs $13,000 per student for schools in Pennsylvania. No wonder my school tax is so high. Oh lucky me, I don't have kids in school, but I pay the school tax. Taxation with out education. Isn't there a way to bill parents with kids in school? At least a partial bill to them and a reduction for me?

I'm gonna hold a school yard sale! I'll sell apples and/or pencils. (I hear teachers still like apples and kids still write.)laugh
