head banger I can identify with BBB here.... At 43 I was a fat slobby housewife with no figure worth mentioning, and no stamina to do anything other than housework and gardening.

Then I took up Ballroom and Latin American dancing.. 2 dance lessons a week of 1hr each with 2hr practice afterwards. Three practice sessions a week of 4hrs each. Then to improve general stamina I took up running...6km's x 3times a week, and on Sundays a 10km run. At 50 I became a total Vegan ... for a trial period of 6months, then lapsed back to normal vegetarian. During that Vegan period I was able to run, non-stop, for 20km's. I felt I could have qualified to run the Comrades Marathon of 98km! My health improved startlingly... eyes became whiter, skin glowed, muscle tone improved incredibly.

The only problem with being a complete Vegan is that the smell of cooking food is nauseating! And b'b'que meat smells like roasting Human flesh (I smelt that once at a road accident... its the same as the meat we eat).

I also discovered how addicted we are to what we think is "normal" food.... bread, butter, fried chips, salt, things made with dough, sugar, etc.

On a raw diet, the body feels LIGHT, and running is effortless, energy boundless. Its just SO HARD TO PERSEVERE. And friends become alienated because they feel unable to cater for dinners and functions should they want to invite you. And eating out becomes a problem.... and slowly one is seduced back into the "normal" ways.

But one thing for sure.... the body needs to sweat and the heart needs to pump... it needs strenuous excercise at least 3 timeds a week.... so very difficult to discipline oneself.

Oh Well, this seems to be a sort of "closed Forum" just the 5 or 6 of us addicts...... Has everyone else found their life partners and just gone away? Like sneaking out the back door quietly? and we the dregs of society still sitting here at our pc's?

Back to Reality. Wedy, in this village of mine, they make the most amazing Jet Fuel! Every second old traditional house has bottles of it outside on a rack... with an "Honesty" box, you just pick up your
Jet-fuel, leave the money in the box, and walk off down the road with your bottle. They just SO trusting these village types. Lucky for them I am so honest. Would hate to spoil a thousand year old tradition, just because I come from SA....Its breeding you know, I am well bred. You can even fiddle around in the box and take your change! And then every year they give a huge party for all their customers, with free sausages and hunks of bread cooked over the grill outside the barn doors, free wine, and even free beer (if you insist on drinking beer). And then, if you realy lucky, the local Mens Choir come and sing for you, and another musical guy plays the piano accordian.... those mountain Swissy sing-along things..... and THEN... if you REALY REALY LUCKY, and happen to be in MY gang, and have been able to last the entire evening.... my son will play his guitar and sing Elvis songs.... and you get to DANCE!dancing

Where were we? Oh you want some Jet Fuel.... sure I bring you some Jet Fuel... 1st week in January 2007. You want White or Red?cool

Oh Dear Me! Wedy does things in MODERATION! Thats not a good sign... I dont think we will have much in common. I like to do things PROPERLY! Open a bottle, and finish it! Light a cigarette, and smoke it! Open another bottle, finish it. Open another bottle, finish it. This moderation stuff is old fashioned.... and a waste of time. If you gonna do something.... do it PROPERLY. Alcohol was designed to be drunk, so you gotta get drunk!dancing dancing dancing (and only use 3 emoticons!)

Everyone who intends going to Austria in 2007 better start their training programme now! I believe Wedy is having a CS Mini Olympics that he is setting up? and he thinks he is going to catch us all out by us being un-fit!

I would suggest you all start kicking lamp-posts on your way to work. And wait till the bus/tram has passed your stop, and then run to the next stop to get on.... works wonders as Cardiovascular excercise. At lunchtimes, skip lunch, and do 500 sit-ups. At night eat your supper only after running around your village a couple times. If you live in the city, calculate the average size of a village and do the same. Substitute water for beer.

And if you can arrange long leave during July, you could walk to Austria, and use the money you save to get realy drunk while there.dancing dancing dancing
