tallman51: I agree with you !!

Only Dylan can sing Dylan !!
Eg ! The Byrds version of Mr Tambourine Man.
They make a nice pop song out of it but it has no meaning.
When you hear it off "Bringing it all back home" you realise how trippy it is and reflects the lsd influenced lyrics from that year.
oh i hate there version of it and johny cash doing it aint me babe doesn't seem right, hendrix did all along the watchtower well though but i still prefer dylans

Not that I'm taking this badly because I'm a Paul Mcartney fan, but I think this video is an insult to Paul just like the Bee Gees insulted The Beatles with the film SGT Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band. John Lennon himself thought the movie was sick.

ya luke kelly is powerful. i'm not into that sort of music but he does have a great voice. it's freddie mercury for me. i can remember being very small and kind of stopping when his voice was on the radio.

Lot's of Macca fans getting upset by this? It's just a parody. And he does the best impression i have ever heard, and it even sound similar singing. I would say that Peter Serafinowicz is a big Macca fan and nothing bad was meant by it.

when you are as big as macca is you are going to get people doing impressions of you. imitation is the biggest form of flattery anyway. Peter Serafinowicz is one of the best comedians in england and i bet he loves macca just as much as you do.

I was talking to a friend of mine the other day, who like me is very socialist. He despises Bob Dylan because he sang songs which he more or less admitted he didn't believe in. Certainly I feel that the protest songs got him noticed then he more or less dumped them until he brought out the song 'Hurricane'. I still like his music for what it is, but it was interesting to hear my friend's take.

For me though, if you're looking for great songwriters, you'll struggle to top Kris Kristofferson. Johnny Cash wrote some amazing songs too, but unfortunately didn't write enough of his own songs.

bodleing: Many musicians, Jimmy Page included, have been quoted saying Roy Harper is one of the best singer songwriters to come out of the UK. Funny thing is, most people have never heard of him, but most people have heard him singing without realising it.

thumbs up Saw Roy Harper at Exeter University and He was and still is one of the all time greats. His track Hors De'vores is my favourite. The man is a genoius.peace

" Keep on Rockin in the free world ".......Neil Young.

Neil Young with Crazy Horse on the album "Nobody knows this is Nowhere" is one of the best rock albums ever recorded. I was lucky to be introduced to him40 years ago and when I listen to this album I go to another planet. cheers
