pedro27: Germany is the richist country in Europe, they can afford fancy buildings

Perhaps they could dig into their burgeoning coffers and assist Malta and Italy with the welfare of 1000's of Libyan refugees flooding into these two countries.

RDM59: Sharing a few photos from my weekend trip to Berlin with a group of friends.

This is a Napoleon fish at the Aqua Dom, which is a 25m high cylindrical / doughnut aquarium with a transparent elevator inside. A bizarre visual experience and some surreal pics.

Divers are at work every day keeping the acrylic glass clear of Algae. It is set in the centre of a plaza with shops, hotels and restaurants all around.
only 2 in the world, the other is in Russia. There are some amazing civil engineering and architectural projects going on in Berlin.

Fab pics R. Thanks for posting. The Germans are such talented designers and engineers.

A friend once sent me some pics, again in Berlin, of multistorey car park, with electronic platforms that take each individual vehicle to the respective available parking space.

It looks like the fish have eaten all the emoticons. Do feed them, R, or pretty soon, they scoff our computers!lol

p.s. I wonder next time you visit, could you have a word with them about tweeking their Rolls Royce jet engines. Thought I'd speak on behalf of Qantas!:))))

Hi Darren, it was well worth seeing and Berlin in general, it's a fine city. I know what you mean about the trams, trains and undergrounds, very intimidating ....wow laugh

Since there was 10 of us we reckoned the cost of sharing taxis would be about the same and a heck of a lot less hassle.... grin

venusenvy: Indeed Its kind of insidious like trying to identify themselves with a symbol of freedom. I just think there are places where they should be restricted. I liked der biere bike though...that looks like fun
