Jeeepers: Why is it so desirable to want to fall in love with someone, love them with all of your heart, and grow old together leading to old age and death ? One will most likely go first, and the other is going to be devastated ? Is it worth it ?

Because we are human? People do move on after death, and look back on the relationship with love and appreciation. I think that is more than worth it, than to avoid a relationship for that kind of negative thinking.

Yes you´re right, people do move on, not so the married couples who lose their partner in their 70´s or 80´s generally though.
However, I agree that on the whole it´s worth the happiness one may experience, regardless of age.

LOVING doesn't hurt ... The actual energy and action of loving another does not hurt... it's the conditions we attach to love that hurt when they are not met ... (IE demanding that the other lives as long as we do so we don't miss them/demanding that the other love us a particular way etc...)
