The Irish Government have already said that the visits of both the queen and Obama is likely to boost tourism. Now i doubt the visit of Chavez is going to make the people of Venezuela want to visit Ireland any more than Kenny going to visit Venezuela would make the irish people want to go there. There are a lot of people with irish connections in both the UK and the US. Would there be many people with irish connections in Venezuela?
Now i'm not saying that would be the only reason people of other countries would want to visit Ireland but it is one reason. Its a long way from South America to here too though. I'm guessing the airfare isn't cheap.

the thing is i am a big supporter of the west and america in particular as we are socially and politicaly alligned and very close in our social and religious outlook to them,

Chavez has won eight elections fairly and squarely but it is not liked by America because he caters for ordinary people before rich elites and corporations.
