1FieryRedHead: God Bless us and save us!!! What a rant!
You really would argue with yer toenails wouldnt you???
To quote yer good self...'heaven forefend' I said Cork were lucky to scrape through with the win!!
Now, sit down there and take that valium and relax yerself for the evening!
All that arguing that you seem to enjoy must be very draining on the aul anergy reserves!!! Foolish and Futile me thinks...

I'm sorry I was under the mistaken impression that this was a discussion forum and that as such we were allowed to express an opinion.roll eyes

It'a juat that I have a lot of time invested in supporting this team, I've been to all the league matches, made the ridiculously awkward journeys and know some of the lads to say hello to. They really are a remarkable bunch and it pains me to see the way the media likes to snipe at them, hence the rant.

Hats off to ya for your dedication in supporting your team!
However...directing your rant at me is pretty pointless in fairness?!! You picked up on 1 little comment I made...that wasnt even directed at you or your beloved Cork...and went off on one!
But sure if ya feel better for it...no harm done!

purplesmurf: I will agree Scriobs that Dublin were outplayed over the last 20 minutes. My doubts as to whether it was due to a wonderful Cork performance are still there however. The loss of Bernard Brogan through injury and the to me baffling substitutions of Connolly and Cullen, two of Dublins physically stronger players, allowed what is a big Cork team gain dominance. The subs Dublin brought on were too small for playing Cork. Yes Cork are the best team in the country but we played a large part in our own downfall...

I don't dispute that, things did go awry for ye but I don't think too many other teams would have gotten the 21 points to punish ye for it.

I don't buy in to this idea that Dublin are now banjacksed after yesterday. Now I don't think ye'll win THIS YEAR's All-Ireland, but then again I didn't think that before Sunday either. Ye really do have to work on your overdependence on the two Brogans, do that and I think ye'll be okay. Gilroy is a fine manager and I think he'll lead ye to an All-Ireland before any of us are too much older. But one thing he has to do is ban the team from reading the media hype, because that is doing ye no favours. A good team? Yes capable of winning an All Ireland? Unquestionably. The finished article? No not yet.

Ye'll be back PS, and I actually think this defeat could make ye a little bit more dangerous in the summer.

Yeah as I say it was not intended to be a rant at you, it was just a general level of frustration with the media focus on Dublin, while your comment was what I responded to, it wasn't you I was directing my ire at. Apologies again.

IMO the dubs biggest prob is what has been mentioned here, when it comes to ''le crunch'' last years all ireland semi and sunday they went missing.. the over hyped nature of the team gets to them plus and this is the biggest thing. take bernard brogan off the team and they really are v average.. will not win the all ireland in the forseable future. I would have to disagree with that,,over recent years the best teams in the league have finished strongly in the all Ireland and I would say Cork and Dublin are the two best teams in Ireland at the moment with very little seperating them,, Kerry and Tyrone are a slight step behind and then you have the likes of , Meath, laois, donegal, Tyrone, mayo, down or Kildare who can give the top four a good game but would need a bit of luck to beat them,, should make for an interesting championship.
