what the point anymore (87)

I quite recently made very good friend with a girl from another site anyway about a month ago a i plucked the courage to ask her on a date we be chatting and texting contstanly on the phone we were supposed to meet up on friday to spend the weekend together but got a text there today saying that the date was canceld due to work reasons well that the excuse she made.


Every evening we used to text or chat and have a laugh on the phone but i noticed the last few evening she went really quite i'm wondering as she met someone one else and let us down gentle by using the work excuse to be honest a feel like packing the whole lot in fed up with it now it would of been the first proper date i been on since last June.Is there any point in finding someone or am i just wasting my time.

sometimes nerves get the better of us all..and I think its even harder if you been chatting for quite a while expectations and all that especially if it was spending the weekend together not just one date...

just try and forget about it and move on if possible, still plenty of nice girls out here looking for a nice guy

You can't trust those women from Ghana !!

Ouch! There's a couple of things though. A first meet of a couple of days is in my humble opinion just a wee bit too much and the second reason, and I think a few of us are guilty of this..........

If you've been hurt in the past, then internet relationships feel safe and secure. You don't even question them. The chemistry feels good.

Then when somebody bursts the bubble asking for a meet, the relationship has to move from the virtual world to the real one. When that happens, the fears that drove us to hide on the internet in the first place resurface and we unconsciously put up the old barriers around us.


I've been on both sides of this and at the time I had no idea what was going on inside me.

I regarded many folk on here as friends but every time I went to Dublin for a weekend, I always ended up eating alone....and that was only about friendship.

So all I'm saying is don't take CS too seriously.

To be honest I would say from my own experience, it is highly unlikely that this is a coincidence. I would personally write this one off, but don't write off all women, You seem like a very nice fella. I'm sure you'll find others if you just let things run their course.
