I camped two half years alongside an access road and found all the birds, a wild cat and its usual litter, rabbits, sheep, alpaca and other creatures in time just accepted my presents. Currently i'm feeding an orphaned calf and just call it and comes running. Its my view its our selves that shut out others including humans which appears to be my worst failing

Faithe: No thanks...had ducks before and know how messy they are, a goose would be worse and be far to noisy for in town.

They are only noisy when disturbed ,bored ,tried ,hungry or wan't to gossip amost them selves

I think we have all been guilty of shutting humans out sometimes...but lve never been guilty of shutting an animal out.
The old pony l had would come every time l called her..she was trained to come to the sound of me tapping a bucket...she would run up the paddock at a flat out gallop. She was a great horse.

I had a Galloway pony in NSW, rode up steep mountain country which he was born and grew up on, he used to put his foot where i looked, and never in all the time i rode him slipped or did anything stupid. Otherwise he was pretty wild, mad as a meat axe you could say, but he had soft spot for peace bread, hehehe

The only downside to having pets is when they leave - my youngest is just outside burying the kitten - he got hit by a car. Poor little thing

He has fifty acres might be for sale after i explained perhaps he could do a boundary alignment told him one day i'll wave a cheque a check in his face, he didn't seem to mind
