I would consider myself pretty open minded, not completely, but enough to be able to empathise with others and feel as though I have an understanding of where they are coming from. My question is...do you consider yourself open minded or narrow minded and if you are narrow minded, do you really consider that you are able to give advice to others if you do not have an understanding of where they are at? Or if you are open minded, do you feel that sometimes your opinions may be a little too liberal?

I am a fair balance of both. I believe that I have good skills with listening, can be empathatic and non-judgemental, but on the other hand, I find it difficult to tolerate some fools and can't resist the urge to tell them exactly what I think of them.

You can give advice and it is their call whether they want to pick it or not

I would consider myself fairly open minded. I try to listen to both sides of the story, but that also depends on how open and honest the storyteller is.

When it comes to lies and dishonesty, I know that is a door slammer for me, I cant abide it and never have been able to.

But as long as someone is not forcing their opinions on their way of life down my throat, I am happy for them to live their own life, in the end it is all only each of us can do.

I have lived an incredibly 'interesting' life, so Im pretty open minded. I dont tolerate cruelty or fools - so in that area Im very close minded.

I believe that each to his own (with the exception of the above), I'll happily say if something isnt my cup of tea, and Im always interested in what makes people tick, and what makes them think and believe the things they do. So I will often question people in depth about their choices and motives.

Im always quiet shocked at the close mindedness of some people actually. It must be difficult to be right all the time. JMO

I would like to think I am happy go lucky. I can be a bit open minded and a bit closed minded depending on the situation or topic at hand.

I don't tolerate liars or people who constantly moan about their woes in life.

I wont tell you what you want to hear. I will tell you what I think or feel.

I do try when someone comes to me to bring myself down to their level, or try and feel where they are at, and offer the best advice I can give them.

I think sometimes when a topic is close to our hearts, we can all tend to be a little closed minded about it though. When something pulls at your heart, or hurts in some way, its hard to break the zone in which our minds can enter.
