lostinspace: Given that everyone seems to remember we always seem to recall events where we where at that time my memory is J.F.K I was at the movies.
I was in class and my teacher, Mrs Willams had the news for the 5th grade students. I cried and she asked why, I do not remember my answer but the question made me cry more? On Earth!

Oh, and I was in Ft. Lauderdale, when it snowed. We were in the middle of mid-term exams, but the school let everyone go outside anyway to see it....was about 10:30 am.
NAKEDMUDPEOPLE: 911 I was watching the news in bed sipping my coffee when the first plain hit. I jumped out of bed woke my daughter to see what was happening. At that point the second plane hit. I knew this was history and my child needed to see it! The sky's stoped and this country will never be the same.

I was in N.S.W. on my sisters farm on holidays I got up in the morning to everyone watching the news I will never forget seeing the plane fying straight into the tower. I thought strange to be watching a horror movie this early in the morning. Took me a while to compehend this was real then I couldn't believe what I saw. 911 was the worst scary shocking disaster I have ever witnessed. To top the rest of the so called holiday we were driving back to Queensland and heard Ansett ( air flight ) company which we were booked on were shut down, had to hang around for days until we were allocated for a flight back to West Australia for 4 days. That week 9/11 on our minds and stuck and can't get home to my family will be in my memory forever. To all the families of the 911.
Some of us see history and some of us never know the history. It amazed me when my daughter whispered into the phone, mom this is history in the making. I almost forgot what history felt like, but my daughter reminded me. Things are changing and as I look around, I see things that will enhance or aid me in the years to come. Countries that give freedoms and rights to all people will survive. JMHO

Such is your binding memory my heart goes out to you to all the folk who died there..I salute you.
I was at work when I heard Kennedy was killed. I couldn't believe this was happening in my lifetime. I cried all weekend watching the tv, his funeral and little John Kennedy salute his father.
I heard the night before that Diana was in a car accident but I never gave it a thought that she would die so I went to bed. The next morning my daughter called me crying that Princess Diana had died. I finally saw a princess in my lifetime and now she was gone. It didn't make sense to me.
When the news came that OBL was killed I had been watching Celebrity Apprentice a Donald Trump show. They kept interrupting the show saying there was going to be a big announcement. My first thought was that the President was shot and I thought "oh no, not again".
I was also at work when the verdict came that O.J. Simpson was not guilty.
I was sleeping when my daughter called to say that a plane hit the World Trade Center. I figured it was a small Cessna and didn't think too much of it. I went downstairs, turned the tv on and had no idea what I was in for. Within minutes the second tower went down. I was stunned and didn't even cry at that moment because it looked too much like a movie.

It was a amazing time in my life I had seen him in Dublin and so over awed by this man so astute and tanned and awe inspiring I was devastated when I heard the news and will live with me forever.
